Time to sell your old Nissan and buy a newer one - you cant afford not to buy it is more likely the answer!!

Have you priced up splitting it up larry? Id be surprised if you got what your after doing it that way, but i may put my hand up for you 4.6 ratio diffs and crawler gears.

Can you not take it as a personal import? Will it not meet those strict aussie engineering rules?

i dont like your chances... i looked into taking my ute over and it was just too much of a mindf$%k... i basically would have had to take it right back to standard, get it registered, then re-modify it, then get it engineered...
anything post 1988 (i think its 88) has to comply with much much stricter adr rules.

each state has its own little rules, and some may have loopholes to be exploited, but i couldnt find any in my case.

For NSW look at this...
http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/ ... .aspx#five

I see from your sig you run a 350.
Rules may have changed but when I was there the only way you could run an engine older than the vehicle it was transplanted into was to run dedicated LPG - emissions BS
