hehehe, would be good but there are a couple of problems 1. its overkill and 2. the landrovers already been pushed outside so I don't know what stealing his lockers will do, although how much are looking for those axles cause they could go well in my hybrid (when i get round to it). But... when I get some yota axles those creepy crawlers are mine (well if he's not using them ) How much did you pay for your mudzillas?
Will most likely stick the hilux axles under the landy + while its apart maybe power steering will go in and maybe fix the slipping clutch (it only slips if you put your foot down on the road) but maybe the hilux will be fixed up. All this will be done in the holidays when I have time so I need a trip to use up the last of my landrover axles. Anyone up for a trip in the wellington region?
thanks for the offer doddzee, I'd like coils so I will follow you up on the offer when (if) I find another axle. I heard Prado are the same as hilux ones, but with coil mounts?

Prado front (78 & 71's) are 8" two pinion diff... rear is 8" 4 pinion

Who knew Prados could fly?
Totally different Oh, the humor you can get out of me first thing in the morning...
7.5" IFS diffs are ford-style, ie: the diff is built in the housing where the 8" are third members, ie: they are built separate and bolted into the housing.
Oh, and the idea of the high-pinion front diff is that the pinion drives on the leading edge of the crownwheel teeth instead of the backside of them, as with standard hilux diffs in the front. I guess Toyota figured with well under 100HP and only part-time 4WD the front would never see that much action so it wouldn't matter
Prados and 80-series cruisers are higher powered and full time 4WD so they developed the high-pinion reverse rotation front diff to handle the welly...
