Post by muskie »

What interior spec does it have? Some aussie patrols right through to 97 had drums on the rear on there base spec models. Never heard of a safari having drums.

The rear end could have been swapped for a base spec patrol one?

Have seen drums on GQ Safari's but usually late 87 or early 88, so they do exist.

My 1990 NZ new Patrol had drums on rear from factory. Running rear disks now though.

was it much trouble to change to discs, axle swap or just the discs, mounts and calipers, did you need anything else??

low spec interior, nz new but it is badged as a patrol/safari, its a minor thing really not that bothered, just found it odd. i am really pleased with the truck and conditionally alot better than my last. can always upspec things as i go.

Easy. Just changed the whole diff assy to a disk braked one. Didn't look to see if the disks can be changed over to the drum diff assy.
