Havent got a photo of axle but its complete from LN106.
Just waiting on TG 3" SAS Kit, rear 4" kit and TG front driveshaft.
To lazy to build stuff myself so the TG stuff is the perfect choice.
Suspension is the main aim and the bits are due to be here start of Oct all going well.

Still contemplating what engine to put in.
Im keeping the lockright rear, going LSD front and Plan to run 35's

Since doing it once and doing it right seems to be your way , ie not afraid to spend the coin to get good bits . Stay with toyota and go s/c lexus 8) 8)

The v6 commy powered Hilux I know of is better offroad than the two lexus conversions he runs around with, on road the Lexus is said to be the better motor but not by much. The lexus is not quire as raw and the commy seems to give better balance to the lux, all are auto I have only seen one lexus manual in a hilux and that lux wouldn't clear a judder bar!

The emissions rules in force now it will also be interesting to see where engine conversions go to and what happens, I think the v6 would be easier (cheaper) to compliance. Here is another vote for the V6.

i had commy v6 and a 5speed in my lux which has been replaced with a lexus and auto, for simplicity i say v6 because everything is in the right place for 4wding on the engine, easy to waterproof, alternator is in the right place etc...BUT would i go back to a v6 now after all the hassles i have had getting the new engine how i want it? nah.even if it was a factory supercharged one i wouldnt have one, a guy i go wheelin with has a supercharged v6 in his surf, it goes hard, goes everywhere i do but it just doesnt have the same symphonic melody that soothes my soul

I had plenty of interest and about 5 cash buyers but i couldnt part with it! weve been through so much together

I like everthing about the lexus motor apart from its physical size, its such a tight fit in the engine bay and to do any work on,the engines bloody near gotta come out.

Ive seen alot of commy conversions done and i do like them, torque in the right place, nice and small and sound good on song.
A supercharged one would be

just spent couple hours working on surf, most of grinding is done now, run out of grinding disks only need 1 maybe 2 more
Also stripped the front axle its ready to have the TG armour and gussets welded on and be rebuilt then ill machine the axles to right length to fit my LSD.

Anyone want a 4.1 diff head? make an offer, pinion and ring gear are in good nick as for the rest i assume its ok.
Its just the head ive pulled out of the axle i bought.

Now basically sit back and wait for the TG shipment. Be great when it turns up, once it does i'll be full noise to get the front done then ill start on the ass end!

Ryan, how much do you need to take of the end of the front axles for the LSD? I need to do this to my axles too.

If you put each axle in a cut off saw and do 1 saw blade width they fit... :P

i know they sound great, but they are such a large engine and make the torque in the wrong place. been a very hard decision to go commy v6

shortened axles, pulled ifs hubs to bits, measured up for the hub spacer ill make tomorrow at work, grit blasted swivel hubs ready to be rebuilt this weekend with the swivel hub kit and wheel bearing kits i bought today.
all going well this weekend i should get the commy sh*t outta the car and get the front axle all back together ready for the Hi Steer and the rest of the TG stuff.
I wont use the TG armour or swivel and wheel bearing kits this time round ill throw that all on at a later date.
Just want to make progress and get this POS rolling
