Waimak South Side Sunday 13 Jan 08

Post by Elmo »

Well Comilux posted the idea of heading out. Lil Mis Zuki and I responded to say we were keen.

Long sotry short, Lil Mis Zuki (and Truckfixer) and Myself (and Philux) met at Belfast pub at 10:30, then headed to the south side of the mak

We found VERY little mud, but some great areas to play in. Lots and lots of ruts, cant wait for it to rain and go back!

Part way through we found a bit of a mud hole. I got through, but the lil zuki didnt have as much luck. Bit of digging and a tow and out it came. Shortly after that we met a group of mainly toyotas, 1 got stuck in that same hole (but going the other way)

We pottered round. Found some amazing tracks.

Came across a good hole, with a nice climb out. Saw that one of the other trucks had tried, but with no luck (unsure if it was the truck with locked diff or not) So thought I had better give it a go! The video will tell the story (when I get that loaded)

Ive added some pics. They will hopefully entertain you.

Thanks To Lil Mis Zuki and truck fixer, also Philux for a great trip.

Turn off main north road into dickies road, a little past the gravel plant you will find an entry to the stock banks, theres tracks running along in there that are where those photos are taken.

Went in at the dickies road area and headed upstream to mcleans island , it was dry as that time of the year, massive ruts almost as high as the truck in places

They are even worse after all that rain. Went up to take a gander a few weeks back and Worsleys Creek would have been a fitting name at the time :D
