Re: mounting external fuel pump on 3y fuel tank
OK as noone else has answered I will, but this info is coming from a race background and what I needed to do to my evo
You have three options,
Option 1 is to put in a new fuel pickup and new return to tank (they are just soldered in) and hope for the best,
Option 2 is to have a low pressure lift pump lift fuel into a swirl pot (say a 2 litre or more small tank) you then have your high pressure line run to and from the small tank via your fuel rail and an overflow form it back into the main tank (this is what was in the Evo and allowed dual independant fuel rails for all the injectors (it had 8, 2 per cylinder) the main reason why was refueling required the tank pump to be off (manz rule of the day not sure if still active).
Option 3 (Personally my choice) getting an EFI tank off a v6 petrol surf it will have all the baffles and everything you need in the main tank to stop surging, the fuel pickup on angles and corners and other issues associated with the fuel coming back fron the fuel rail. Good Luck
