Samurai Front Drivers Side Axle

Post by SirGerald »

Hi require a replacement axle and having a few problems trying to source one.

Did have a second hand one lined up that fell through and now may have to try and do the national round in Oct on a very very second hand one and cross my fingers (and perhaps not use the right boot as much) :( :(

Have tried, Falsgrave, Mudbits, and Te Puke Partsworld and of course trademe. Please feel free to suggest anyothers.

These are as hard to find as a honest politician,
if you manage to find one have the centre turned down so it will flex
if not here is the link to what i had to purchase, good product , and good price

I have a set of the H/D axles , hope not to break them . Seeing how hard they are to get ( std axles ) it may be worth getting some in . I got mine from the states but a different place to the link above .

Check what the spline count is at the cv as I could sell you my axles ( not using them as I had to make longer ones ) . I expect you will just grenade the cv then .

Hi Chris spline is 22.

Just hoping to try and get through one season and then look at do something major to the truck, whether using the stronger axles, or more than likely look at hilux conversion.

Most H/D axle are 26 spline and the rear side gears can be run in the front,
if you have a rear locker with side gears, you can fit the factory side gears to the front with the H/D axles
if you made the axles stronger the CV will break, need the complete axle

Have you tried Dan Cowper?

I've also heard that Brian Howat can make them.

Good Luck
