Re: rear mount radiator?
Just bear in mind what would happen if you split a pipe , being strapped in and getting a face full of hot water would not be good . Run a sheild or cover over it .
I plan to try small exaust tube run down the firewall and under the tunnel and up the back so all outside the cab . Time will tell if it works

Re: rear mount radiator?
lots of trucks use there tube frame
Re: rear mount radiator?
truck was not made with rear mount rdiator in mind, i,ve been under it, in it for hours trying to work out which way to run steel pipe threw chassis and under floor so its away from occupants and not likely to get crushed from driveline or rocks and trees etc........
just no room under it, and roll cage is not open between sections, plus i wonder how willing to push me back on my wheels
spectators would be after a few burnt hands.
to one side of trans tunnel inside the cabin is going to be only way, but have not figured out what to make it of yet?
no way a bent up section of exhaust tubing would fit, without lots of welded sections or/and rubber hose joins and clamps
in which case may as well run just hose and be done with it.
any restrictions on how small i can run hose to?

make the pipe a max of three quarters the size of your exisiting hose. havent checked the rules on hoses BUT if I was scrutineer I would have you run pipe as much as possible (Ali) also helps with the cooling. and everwhere there was hose or joins I would want it coverd
Re: rear mount radiator?
You could try copper as in house plumbing. easy to bend/join, comes in all sorts of sizes up to about 35mm or so.
I was havng the same space issues and couldn't be bothered with the hassle of sheilding it above the floor pan, not just breakage issue but its hot all the time. (now have custom one to fit the spaceup front) Also spoke to a radiator specilist and he didn't recommend hose all the way for a number of reasons but mainly safety, and it insulates somewhat wheres pipe won't

Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed
Re: rear mount radiator?
I had hydraulic (return)hose running to my radaitor .Worked well
Re: rear mount radiator?
ended up, cutting the top off the trans tunnel running exhaust tubing above the gearbox , one line managed to line up with a hole in the rear cross member (must have been for exhaust orig vechile) other one comes out of floor just behine seat.
anyway all thats left to do is everything.....................

Re: rear mount radiator?
I would have thought that steel electrical conduit or commercial compressor pipe cause they have all sorts of elbows and accessories woulda been perfect? nice and thick wall as well so less chance of it splitting or breaking.
Re: rear mount radiator?
going to post up a pic when i get a chance, 20 hose clamps, 80 bucks of pipe, and lost count of how many radiator hose elbows but have been too every supa cheap and repco in the bay.
anyway its in, its all hidden from occupants, and plumbed up.
wot will really sux is come time to fit new motor and auto (and ditch 4age) , finding out it fouls like.....everywhere
will def work it into plans on new buggy to build it into bottom frame tubes.

Re: rear mount radiator?
steel is best , big is good.
alli will crack and shear real easily , exhaust tubing or galv pipe 1-1/4" minimum, remember your system can see 14psi . mostly you wont see good water flow till above idle so i try not to leave mine sitting around idling. i have used exhaust tubing with no anti freeze over at least 2 years with the wagon sitting unused for 4-6 months of the year .
i put a blob of weld at the ends of the pipe to give the hoseclamp something it will have to get over for the hose to come off.
