GQ Airflow snorkel fitting

Post by BUSH_MAORI »

Hey everyone,

Im new to this site so if thi has already been asked sorry.

But I have just purchased a Airflow snorkel off trademe and the problem I have is the fitting on the inside of the guard it has a flat rectangle side that slides over the outerguard part of the snorkel and the other end has just a circle are you ment to glue both sides or something? or do i have it the wrong way around?

I pulled out the pre cleaner box beside the inner guard and am thinking of replacing all the inside piping with this flexi pipe would that be a easier option or does that box need to stay? Is there anything someone could share with me to help me out??

Thanks
Ray

hi ray, i cant really help with the snorkel part but i removed my precleaner, they dont do a hell of a lot, use a good air filter, ie not K&N or similar and should be good as!!

i had have just fitted one to my terrano but i also fitted one on my safari and they are both crap, why the hell they didnt make the safari snorkel longer so it went straight through the guard directly into the air box i will never know

i put the square flange on the inner guard with plenty of silicone sealer and i mean plenty. i made the two round ends fit into each other ( fair amount of f:~%ing about ) again using sealer. the instructions are shocking  and lack any real information, but they are cheap and you only get what you pay for....

back in the uk we were paying £300 pounds for exactly the same units thats aprox $750 dollars, and by no means is that relevant in money terms..
