Sorry guys, but due to a bad year in sales, and now redundancy I have to watch the finances very closely. I am going to have to sit at home instead.

I have cured the hilux woes, removed the radiator and cleaned the mud off it, adjusted the front wheel bearings and cleaned the rear brakes. now just gotta buy a replacement strop!!!

I think i will adj my 4 capacity to 3, as Nic said, would be a bit of a squeeze with 3 in the back but if need be, could fit 4 (and another 6 in the deck  )

We are looking at needing seats for about 31.

Is the basic route shineyable? We'll have a prado with us and perhaps a patrol too if we are short of seats.

Look forward to meeting those who can make it.

Went into the very front page of Kiwi4X4.org.nz and there it said that they were hosting this event.

If so, shouldn't THAT info be made public? Or have we as a club backed out and ORE is doing it?.
No, it AINT the same thing, is it? LOL

We will have a 8 seater shiney (90 series prado like Jerry's) if the tracks are suitable. It's my father's ('Grandad's shiney') and gets some offroad use (have taken it through Napoleons Hill etc not that the welly crew can relate to that)
Image

Will be ok to use it in mud, rough stuff etc as long as no damage or bad scratching. (Got to get back to Canty and look shiney after) Has Hayman Reese tow bar which works well as a rear recovery point but just factory stuff on front etc. ATs, open diffs, no snorkle. Are tracks suitable for something like this?

I think also a leader or two are staying back that day and a couple people are leaving the night before so that will drop the numbers to under 30 attending this part.

The tracks are not hard, only minimal bush scratch if any, we can clear it if need be. The slippery forest is the muddy patch and that is where some damage can happen if you are not careful, but you can sit this part out and watch. They will be fine in my eyes and I would even go as far as taking my car through the tracks if it wasn't a Subaru...

suzuki1k wrote:Hi all,

Here is the schedule for the day:

Meet at Maungakotukutuku gate entrance 9:00am get sorted out for Group to turn up at 9:15am, drivers briefing and quick overview of 4x4ing for the kids - safety, what is what etc etc,
Head to Rallywoods via Akatarawa Forest,
Rallywoods for lunch and a kids play, tug of war etc etc,
After lunch head back through Akatarawa Forest to slippery forest for a play,
After play head back to Maungakotukutuku gate entrance.

Aim to be back there by 3:30 - 3:45pm.

Fweddy, yes there is plenty of parking there and it is safe, take valuables with you though.

OTHER:

There is the normal cost of $15.00 per truck and a $5.00 visitor fee, this fee is payable if you are not an association affiliated member. Please note that there may be a minimal bush rub on the tracks that we are doing, we are aiming to keep it as shiny as possible but can't promise anything. If we need to clear the track we will.

Fingers crossed we have the seats, please remember if you have said that you are going to be on the trip PLEASE PLEASE make it, if you can't make it PLEASE let either Jerry or myself know ASAP! We will need to arrange seats as we don't want to have anyone miss out! Thank you to all those that have advised they are unable to make it.

Anyone that is coming to Rallywoods needs to remember that there is a $5.00 night fee per-person and a $10.00 fee for playing in there on Saturday if you decide to play, your tickets that you have earned from working bee's can be used.

Cheers

Bump, this is what is going to be happening... there will be NO extra cost for Sunday in Rallywoods. I will sort this out with Paul.

EDIT = Leaving rallywoods gate at 8:15am heading to Maungakotukutuku gate entrance via aka's.

Can't wait now!!
