new suzuki 4wd driver looking for tracks

Post by chops »

Hi i live in tauranga and have just got my first 4wd :D i have driven some others before mostly army type and have some limited skills off road.
this is a 3 door 1992 vitra with A/T mud tyres on it i have a hand winch, ropes, block, first aid kit, uhf raidos etc and hope to get an electric winch bullbar etc just as soon as i find the money to do this :? but i would like to know if there are any tracks around the tauranga area that two to three trucks with 4wd lerners can go to try some new skills with no major mud or ruts as these are road standard zooks with limited recovery equip and money :P

I suggest you buy the North Island 4wd track guide book written by Andy Cockroft, the green north island one is good to start off with followed by the blue revised edition, for the more hard yakka stuff. Hope this helps

Join a club, you'll learn a lot much more quickly and with less damage to your truck by benefitting from other people experience.
