Newbie sort of

Post by Noeyedeer »

Hi there, whilst not exactly new to the forum, after a couple of three years of walk about am finally making my first post ( that must be some sort of record lol ) better late than never some might say . It took blimmin ages to remember my password to.But its good to be back and recognise some familliar names still kicking around,so thought i should introduce my self proper,my name is Luke I stay in West Auckland and have a 94 Pajero LWB 2.8 diesel auto with factory rear diff lock , I use this off road mainly shooting up Muriwai beach fishing .About four months ago brother in law and i were coming back from fishing ,came off at the new ( for us anyway ) rimmers road beach access so we could go and have a nosey at the jeep 4wd park in woodhill forrest.Had a chat to the guys there grabed some info and found out there was a free 4wd drive course being offered , since beach driving was as off road as we got we decided to give it a go.Was blimmin blown away with where i could take the thing in standard dress. My cook is now worried that the money we have been saving for her new kitchen is now going to get redirected by way of upgraded suspension and bigger tyres lol.Am planning a trip up to the 4wd park with some friends this coming sunday , if any of you guys happen to be up there look out for me im probably the one getting towed out of some minor hole, bring on the rain!

No worries Dunerider ,will be thinking of you when Im up to my diffs in mud ( hopefully it will rain all week so there is plenty ) giving it heaps. Will let you know next time I go, just have to make sure my cook is looking the other way so i can snatch $55 out of her wallet lol.Actually spending a Saturday in the park then shooting up the beach and fishing the change of light then parking up and I dont know having a drink or two or three sounds like it could be the go.Then it would be a nice cruise back down the beach on sunday. Dam so much to do and so few weekends to do it in before christmas.

Yup sure did had a blast ,just me in the paj and brother in law in his vx landcruiser took a couple of mates to.Will be interesting to see if said mates suddenly ring up wanting to know when were going again as they have brought 4wds lol.The place had dried out a bit since last time I was there but still found enough mud to get stuck in,I think we have driven most of the tracks now apart from a few of the more challenging ones we were warned about. Really friendly people running the place, they were in the middle of clearing an area near the start of the tracks so looks like there is going to be another clay/mud area up the top before you start should be interesting when finished. Only downer was leaving my snatch strap and shackles at one of the mud holes due to miscomunication between all partys concerned, myself mainly ( BUGGER ).Looks like Im going to be doing some overtime so i can get some more gear.
