Wanted. 12v. Even if you don't have one an idea of what they are worth would be appreciated.

Cheers, Taz.

Whats wrong with your one? They are pretty easy to fix most of the time.

I have no idea tbh. The guy I bought the cruiser off said that a terminal went and he got that fixed, it worked 3 times then crapped out again. He's pulled it apart and hasn't given me any of the bolts or anything so I though it might be eaiser to get another one then eventually get the one I have sorted to be the spare. Depending how much a replament costs compared to the cost of fixing it that is.

Will send you a PM madaz.

Also out of interest, the starters off the petrol 40's engines wouldn't happen to work on the 3B would they? I don't think it would be likely but you never know.

Cheers, Taz.

Sounds like a similar problem i had with mine. Cost about $20 bucks to fix. Give me a yell and if you're keen you can drop it by the workshop and i'll have a look. I've got a 24v one in bits here, so if nothing else we can use some of those parts to get your one running. All the internals are the same just a different motor. PM me if you want to. We're at the shop most Friday and Monday nights Cheers Jason

Cheers for your help the other night Jason. Got her fired up this arvo but the starter has stopped working again. You just get a clicking sound of power arcing. Atleast I know the motor runs, although shes farkin smokey.

When it was starting, there was a fair amount of sparking from what looked like the top on the block side. Pretty sure THATs not supposed to happen, but I don't know why its doing it. I re-tightened the nuts holding the wires and the starter itself but its still doing it.

Any ideas anyone? Just want to get this heap running nicely so I can start thinking about everything else.

Cheers, Taz.

I presume the battery is OK? Can you drag it into the shop on Fri night?

Yeah the one that was in there is stuffed so I put one in from the Safari to test it. Don't know much about batteries but the one from the Safari had a lower CCA and RC. From memory the Safari battery was 500cca and 100rc. The one that was in the 40 was 925cca 180rc so it was a bit lower than it should have been. Will probably buy a batt through work tomorrow for it.

I should be able to if one of the flatmates is around to do the braking. Will let you know later in the week.

Turns or it was a terminal on the far side touching or just getting to close to the block and arcing. Taped it up for now just to see if that was the problem but will grab some shrink stuff to put over it from work this week.
Got a new Exide n70zzl battery for it yesterday so not long left to go before I can test it out.

Cheers, Taz.
