The 3.0s have electronic sensors for everything, and for this reason are best serviced for all serious issues by an Isuzu agent like Blackwells with all right problem solving diagnostic gear. If O-rings ok, then this is a very good bargain and should give your mate a good run. Peppy truck that can do big ks.
Before heading offroad and perhaps contemplating front lokka, check size of front cvs. Earlier bighorns and mus (87-93) are quite strongly built (about 30mm shafts), but some later models ( depends where assembled ) have lighter cvs and don't handle lockers as well.
Nice truck - easy to lift and develop and can be made to perform quite well offroad with a few $$.
Thanks for that, Ill have another look at the engine code.
I had noticed all the electric gear under the hood, there is a surprisingly massive heat sink hiding some serious relays (i think). Way different from the old 3L.
I had heard the same about the injector pumps but wanted some verifcation from someone else.
The guy is one of those genuienly nice guys so i hope it serves him well.
As much as id like to see him put a locker in it, chances are the hardest it work is a wet feild......
