Right I have to join 3 injector wires into the one output from the link ecu, doin all the joins in the cab behind the glove box to try and elimante poor connections, Question is what is the best way to join these wires, could just strip all four back and put them in a connector, solder all four together and heat shrink (heard solder can crack with movement and give a poor connection), or try to crimp all four (two in one side and two in the other) then heat shrink over that. Im thinking the last one the best at the moment....
Ideas/suggestions?

solder and heat shrink, the solder won't crack but the wire can break at the end of the solder, if your worried about movement use a gool length of heat shrink (probably the stuff with glue in it) and it will hold it nice and straight.
For something less important crimping would be sweet but over time the crimping terminals oxidise and increase resistance.

solder good crimps bad ( unless you have a double roll crimper then crimps not to bad after all)

double roll crimper? i got a circula crimper that i use for work on heat shrink joins on mains cable, got some of that heat shrink with the silicone goo that ozzees out in the van

strip the wires, then twist them together with your fingers, then wrap sellotape around them.......

Re: Best way to join wires advice???
This is almost a grave dig but will add my two cents worth .
I would not solder joints , prefer crimps . On the old machines I used to work on we spent hours replacing soldered plugs with crimp plugs .
Make sure you get a good crump thou , you can get some good ones at RS components , crimp them up and then hit them with the heat gun or the like and they shrink and seal themselves down tighter than a ducks ass . Used these on all the trucks I have wired up and not had a problem yet and thats near on ten years .
If anyone wants the number of the crimp I use I will dig it out , otherwise as you were

i have heard of some crimps with solder or something in them. crimp them down and heat treat them, that sound similar?

Have used something similar to that at work in the past but not what I have used , theyy were too $$$$ .
These just shrink the sleve with a big of goo inside .

Yea you can get heat shrink joiners with resin in them that seal water tight. we use them on boat trailers.

Re: Best way to join wires advice???
the heat shrink joiners are good and have there uses but for something important the want the least resistance and voltage drop possible like injectors and computer wirring i would solder every time, hands down it will be the better connection.
