Re: how big can i go
You can get as big as your wallet is on those rims
but getting them to fit your truck would depend on how much body clearance you have

Re: how big can i go
I think I remember those new springs going in a wee while back...... didnt you have some pics of some 35 mudzillas leaning up against the truck or something, I remember they were 6 stud rims in the pics?

Re: how big can i go
they were dads 33
i think i can get 35s on now but i will probably borrow yoricks 33s to see how my g turns them before making the final decision

I agree 5.5 " rims are very narrow...ii think youll have trouble getting a tall tyre thans that narrow....go buy some wider rims.
Re: how big can i go
the g has an unusual stud pattern so i would have to get them custom made

You could probably get them widened...they just cut the rim in half & add a strip in the middle & weld it back together again.

Re: how big can i go
unfortunately to get a tyre around the 35" size, you will probably have to buy a wide tyre.
the only thing I can think of to fit would be a 235/85 R16, but these are only about 32" in height.
so as has been mentioned, you either get your rims widened or try to find 15s that are wider and in your stud pattern
and what is your stud pattern if you don't mind me asking ???

if they fit, you could go buy a set of 15 x 8s in a jeep PCD (114.3) and take them to an engineer and get them to drill your PCD in between the jeep pattern.
It may be possible if you're prepared to wait, to get a set drilled for your specific application.
we just recieved a set at work that we ordered for a customer who had a chevy blazer (120PCD??), so it seems that anything is possible.

Ahhhhhh dude, welcome to the REAL world of 4x4.
The most expensive part of any truck or project, and equally the most important part is the rims and tyres. With out a good combination, you might a well stay home.
Don't skimp on them, they are a critical part of your trucks performance!!!!
There's heaps of places in Hamilton that'l do your rims for you. Mike at Terapa 4x4 parts and repairs will widen them, or flip the centers for non road legal purposes, or he will re-drill the stud pattern for you. Go talk to him bout it.
There's also a place down near Marshal Transmissions on Grasslands place that gets blanks and will build what ever the hell rims you like, road legal or otherwise.
Spend the coin and get the right offset so the tyres sit ouside the gaurds and protect your body work, and also fit the tyres that you want to run.
If i were you, i would take one of your rims down to mike, ask him about increasing the offset and widening the rims and se what he says, other wise look out for a second hand set of 15x8 -20 offset (widest offset 15x8's) and go see mike about getting the centers re-drilled, or see the guys down grasslands about glueing new centers into them for ya.

Re: how big can i go
if you get a wider rim you will be able to get more common tyre sizes. more common equals cheaper, so you may end up spending more if try to stay with the 5.5s and want tall tyres.
could look at these rims http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 631184.htm if your looking to get the centres modified. and here is an example of how common things are getting cheap.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 622491.htm
but i do undersatnd why you want to use what you have, just think it would be wise to look at all the alternatives before making a decision. including pricing them all up. you could buy the mudzillers on rims and then sell the rims you get with them to pay for yours to be modded. lots of options.

Re: how big can i go
if you get on well enough with the local tyre shop
take one of your rims down and see if they have an old tyre or even a new one in the wider size you may be looking at and get them to fit one so you can see how it fits or doesn't fit.
just another option to look at
