Pajero Diff lockers into a challenger???

Post by jear bear »

HI Guys, can anyone help? I have a 96 Challenger and am wanting to get some diff lockers for the rear, As everyone knows, the ARB Lockers are quite expensive (Not saying the arnt worth it tho). So I am wondering if the Pajero Lockers will fit in? If anyone knows about this or could point me in the right direction I would be hugely greatful.

Thanks Guys.

ARB list the same lockers front and rear for the challenger and paj, as long as you have 28spline axles.... i would imagine a factory paj one would fit...

or buy ARB ;)

There will be a bit of muchking round to get it to work such as getting the compressor... SInce there won't be a wiring loom in your challenger for it it'd be easiest to hook up with a simply switch as opposed to the over complicated Pajero way.

I know the springs and radius arms are different but don't know about the housings. It'd be easy if the housings were the same as you'd just swap the whole lot over.

if arb are the same, it may be that the heads are the same. climb underneath and count how many bolts hold the head in. it will either be 10 or 12. then check your trans axle code and you will know what one your on the look out for.

Thanks for the advise guys, I was hoping that if I could find a diff and a compressor, that I could simplify the wiring and simply putting a switch on the dash as you advise. Is this possible or am I in for more than I bargain? Is there any other options available such as LSD? I am just trying to get a bit more drivability out of it when out and about. :D

thanks

As Sam said, count the bolts. This will tell you what diff head it is.

Challengers were more of less based on a triton running gear wise initally. Your 96 would have leaf springs in the rear?
