Whangarei 4x4 club will be up there that weekend.

I think they staying at the ahipara camp ground, they go up there every labour weekend.

Its normally a state highway on the crunchie trail that wknd, between guys on quads and 4x4s. 2 years ago the local Maori went up and parked at the gate wanting cash to enter, Cuz we love the track so much n we not sure whos land its actually on we gave them $10 bucks a truck, keeps them happy they wont b tryin to close the track down when they make that sort of cash for stting round smoking dope.

I was up there in july - I love it up there. theres quiet a big wash out that put all 3 of our Suzukis resting on there sides. Part from that alsum track.

was going to be a camp with the boi 4wd club but it is now not going ahead due to the bad weather so we will just go for a place to somewhere nearer home.

When we've run a trip up there we've always given a koha to the maori lady who's family owns the land that the crunchie trail is on. We checked the land database thing we had back then to make sure we were giving the money to the right people.

we had so much fun playing in the dunes, and due to vehicle problems, we never ended up doing the crunchie. the whangeri guys did the Tutu trail on the sunday.
