Post by new2zukes »

well just had my falcon alternator come for my suzuki and im trying to get the nut undone so i can get a v belt pully onto the alternator as it has a flat belt one on there. i have tryed undoing it both ways first the way the thread looks like it is going and when that didnt work i tryed the other way. i has a bit of movement with a long bar but the nut didnt turn something else did as i marked a line on both the nut and the thread. hope someone can help. there is a pic below to show what im talking about.

A rattle gun is by far the easiest way. It will come off in about 2 seconds and you'll kick yourself for not trying it sooner.

Same deal if you ever have to take the flanges off your transfer case.

Yep you should be able to hold the pulley with your hand and use the rattle gun to take the nut off.

i start with a 3/4 inch rattle gun then go to plasma/gas axe :D
good luck getting it off they can be a pain
if you arn't keeping pulley put it in a vice do it up tight then attack with socket and powerbar worst poss you smash brake the pulley off
hope it helps
