Great pic's one of the few times I have seen 4wd shots where the angles actualy look close to that being driven! Not sure why you took so many of toyotas tho PR, Jellous much :P . Huge respect for the driver of the Yellow Double Cab Hilux who bent then broke his gearbox crossmember on sat, to drive back to CHCH overnight replace it and return for Sunday  and I am sure he completed the event!

Great day for all spectators, drivers and the ppl running the event. At the end of the day spectators payed $10 to get a ride around some of the tracks, the two ppl brave enough to jump into the Milne V8 buggy loved it (just needed to change their clothes after the bog) there was a large section of the hillside for spectators and at least 5 tracks were visible from the spectator area and parts of 2 other tracks.

Funny after it was all over and the sound of V8's, V6's and Turbo Diesels on their rev limiters was gone it was like something was missing.
Legal disclaimer: Any information I may have provided is worth exactly what you paid me for it.

If anyone has more photo's of us in the FJ40, I'd love to get some by email:
topofthesouth@clear.net.nz

As a novice competitor in what was probably the lowest powered, least capable truck, it was a lot of fun, but very disappointing that there were so few clubman class entries. I was very pleased that the last log on the two "race" circuits was removed from the clubman class for the second day, because they were a real truck-breaker. They did a fair bit of damage to some of the open class - so imagine how tough they were on 32in tyres and no suspension lift!

For next time, I'd like to see the stages lengthened a bit. We were actually driving for less than 90 minutes in total, and some of the more capable trucks were less than 30mins. Stage one was under 30 seconds for some. We had a few challenges, but some trucks only used the winch once or twice all weekend.

I'd like to pass a huge thanks to the marshalls - they were all very helpful, fair, and friendly. Those on the speed sections (Stages 7-9) had a pretty tedious job with no good spectator spots, so their commitment in missing most of the action to make the event work is especially appreciated.

Actually there were 6 Marlborough Club trucks there, although one is Kaikoura based, and one lives in Nelson. I'm sure the video isn't as spectacular as the one you posted - I tried to keep the wheels on the ground where they belong! Any chance you could send it through by email?

Thanx
