new guy from welly

Postby dave_a » Fri Oct 31, 2008 8:44 pm

Hi Guys

Just brought a 94 vitara totally standard at the moment but looking at changing that :)

plans so far are 2 inch body lift
2 inch suspension lift, does anyone know where to go for this? :|
and some 31" tyres with some nice wide rims
and maybe a snorkel if i can find one that doesnt cost an arm and a leg!!!

Always keen for advise or any hints and tip you can give me!!!!

car needs to be kept road legal so cant go to far, but any and all help is appreciated, and if anyone knows anyone selling any of the stuff mentioned send em my way!!

Give the tracks a try, can be surprising how far a std machine will go. A great bunch of people from Welly that I sadly do not get enough late passes to see much. That and *&^(^&*(^ stupid electricals in old machines :)

Get out enjoy the group and the mud. and... welcome!

x90 performed better than vitaras, better balanced, was about $2k cheaper than same year vitara, had a t top, so didnt need to find a convertible vitara, and of course looked better than a vitara, and climbed further than a poo troll!

You owned a what??? Brave man for admitting it!! Now I have spit coffee all over the keyboard!! please hand in your Man-card at the door on the way out to your Gynaecologist appointment[/quote]

And while i am making that appointment i forgot to remind you that it would clean up a toymota.....no ruts to get bogged down in, no weight requiring big tyres and big motor to get it thru, oops on that fact no diff lockers either and the winch was mostly used for recovering surfs.....it doesnt matter what you drive the challenge is making a relatively stock standard road vehicle go where it was never designed and come back in one piece.

Now you have finished your insults i will go back to modifying my delica, i have a spare keyboard here if you need it

just got a quote from naenae tyres, 193 per tyre plus 85 for the rim, called tonys and they can do for 180 per tyre and 80 for the rim, so 1040 for the full set brand new, not as bad as I thought!!!
