Oil Light

Hey guys,
Well me and a mate took our utes down to Rerewhakaaitu for a play on the weekend, lake was quite a bit higher than last time I was there, ended up taking a bit of a deeper swim than planned when i found some large holes in the track under the water Thank god for the snorkel and a quick call to my mate to tell him not to follow (no snorkel) .
Anyways to the problem at hand, the low oil pressure light now flickers on start up and then stays on all the time, pressure on the gauge is fine no sign of leaks. Still the same today, any ideas? could be still water sitting in the sensor connectors? or something had a nice warm day today to dry out today. Now i can see the large sensor infront of the oil filters, is this the one for the light or the gauge? I assume they dont both run off the same sensor or they would both be not working. There is a small amount of grass and weeds still between there and the starter

Other than this a good day out..carpets needed a wash anyway

The older oil pressure sensors don't like water. Once wet, the low oil pressure light comes on and generally stays on until it dries out over the next week or so. New ones from Nissan have breathable membrane so isn't an issue.

ps - watch yourself around the edge of Rerewhakaaitu, that f*cker is bottomless!

Yeh i generally stick to the "inland" track where possible, but this time even that was part of the lake in places. Got from the 1st entrance to the reserve no problems track dips just into the edge of the lake in a few spots but you can see the bottom. From the reserve you get about 5m of track then it just turns to water with only the vegetation to mark the edges lol. Last time this was all dry with little more than small puddle bogs where the big holes are. Went in a few meters n on the flat stuff water was only upto the hubs, until i encountered the holes which i swear werent that big last time uhoh water higher than the bonnet and i couldnt see the end of it gave the old girl all she had and made it to the first dry patch only looked to get worse from there on, turned round n went back round the road n in from the campsite end
