Cheers fweddy. Nibs gave me a couple of those mounting brackets the other day. I'm on the right path to getting the discs on the rear now.
My twin bro has his FJ40 at Ricks getting new leaf springs fitted along with a few other issues getting sorted. After seeing his with new leaf springs fitted. I'm thinking mine are getting a little saggy. Rick should of ordered 2 sets.

Some times the saggy springs are good - more flex.
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

Valve springs doing their job really well thanks. It doesn't happen often, but it's great to hear the rev limiter kick in (6200rpm). It's a sweet sound to my ears. Before the new valve springs I never heard it on the limiter. It would just valve bounce before then.
Totally worth it. Next year I'll be getting new pistons, rings and maybe a mild cam to freshen things up a little. Don't think I'll be supercharging it though. Good luck with superchargering your truck! What brand are you going for? I'm thinking of supercharging the Holden at some stage next year. Hoping to go from 405kW to over 500kW at the fly wheel.
Saggy springs are good just do a spring over conversion you get the clearance for the bottoming out issue and get all the spring and shock mounting stuff on top of the diff where it won't dig into the mud It does depend on what your prefered use of it will be, road car or fun toy
Legal disclaimer: Any information I may have provided is worth exactly what you paid me for it.

I'm sure you're right Steve. But as my 40 is an everyday runner I prefer to keep it lower to the ground. I drive it up to Nelson often. It has no problem cornering at speed. Some people in their late model jap cars must get confused when I pass em in my beaten up old truck. I use it to tow a boat or trailer often to. So it's a buzz to have a truck that has a balance of everything I need.
Trucks had another couple of small additions thrown on it.
An aux rear spot light. Great when your hooking up a trailer at night. Just hope the kids don't put their foot on it getting in n out of the back.
I truck "big rig" farkoff horn. For those road rage moments. Or if I need people to get out of the way fast when I'm off road (which hardly ever happens) It'll have 100psi up to it coming from my under floor air tank. This thing is seriously loud!
I'm putting this latest mod up for the, "funniest mod ever done on a ORE truck". I think it might get close to taking the award.
After driving my truck around and having the odd road rage moment then using the new horn, I've found it just doesn't have that shock value I'm after. So today i brought a bigger horn. This one is 650mm long!! It makes the first horn sound like it belongs on a mini. It JUST fits under the hood.

I was sure to copy someone else. But this is my thread.
A couple of trains horns would be stupidly loud! (like Jerry's setup) Now that's something for me to aspire to. WELL DONE!

Here you can see all 4 of mine. I did have a train horn jacked up at one stage, but needed around 200psi for it!

It's only against the law to have the "dukes of hazard" style horns.
Even if they are setup as a secondary horn?
Not sure about that. But someone else will know. The guy who gives me my WOF is setting up the horns in my truck so I can just sit back and relax. He's putting a toggle switch on it to go from one type of horn to the other. I hope it's in a easy to reach location coz we all know how quick we wanna hit the horn.

from what I've seen you still need to have your normal horn, easier to wire them on a seperate switch....... thats what I've oops I mean thats what I would do if I had a set (every good ol boy redneck should have them)
I have a change-over switch for my horns, but I have left them on the air ones for the last two warrants. Nothing has been said and the last one was at the Litchfield Testing Station. They were more worried about the fairlead protruding on the winch.

Pete. Take your truck to Rick at 4X4 Acc. He does WOF's. He won't pass anything that's not legal but he is understanding towards us 4X4 owners. I do stress he won't pass anything not legal. He knows his stuff. He does the WOF for my truck. (not to mention everything else)
Thanks Pete, its easier for me to get my wof's elsewhere. The Litchfield guys kinda know my truck now and are quite inquisitive about the PC and extras in it. They have given me good advise too on the winch and how to make it more WOF PC, but that is another topic best covered when I do a rebuild next year.

Same here at the Morehouse WOF cafe, I think thats why they failed me on the PC mounting on the hood lining.
They are farkin useless there. It took two of them over a minute to find a bonnet catch that was plain to see though the grill. Got a laugh out of it though so can't complain to much

I used to take it to the Litchfield testing station to. The black guy there used to love driving me truck, even though it was only a a few meters. I should take it back there just for a laugh. But Rick does heaps of WOF's everyday and would know more about the do's n don't's on a 4X4 truck than most I'd say. After all, that's his bread and butter. He's also a qualified auto sparky so....yeah. (there's a good plug for our local guy)
