Its a great place to learn what it feels like to be on a 30 degree slope & also how stable you really are when sitting at that angle ....im sure Mike could put you in touch with the people who look after it .

Sounds great!

Isn't it owned by the S.I.T around the corner where we did the course?

Nice Zuk btw. Shouldn't even notice something that small on an a-frame or trailer behind your saf :D

right, have listen to all, and agree with Dieselboy stay lower either add 50mm extended shackles
or 50mm spring lift, don`t go with too harder springs, gear the crawler gears in the box, and hills
become a small problem, and don`t have to be attacked to hard.
a fuel tank guard is a MUST have item in the South, check the diff ratio`s to see what you have???
motor size is not important, i run a standard 1300 and as you know i go on the same trips as the rest.
also at the fuel pump it cost $20 not $80, apart from that is reliable.
PM me and will give you ideas

cheers Bob

Okay.. leave the susepension stock trim the guards put a set of 30x9.5x15 wiith offset rims throw the swaybars away and drive it. thats all my old 413 was.. okay I put a full set of tough dog springs and shocks under it after 4 years which 3 years later are still there and it went bloody well.

413's will stop driving along a sidling before they lay down and once you work out how many revs to use you can actually drive them quite some distance on 2 wheels without laying down.

Forgot to mention You also have about 3 different lines that you can take compared to a Whale as well

Try this for a idea on hilux axle swap.

http://www.zukikrawlers.com/showthread.php?t=2478&highlight=toyota+axle

I have a 413 that is undergoing major surgery and agree with the others about wide wheels and low lift if sticking with the zuk axles. Simple mods and let the boss drive it.

Good luck what ever you decide and lots of pics as you go.

Any help?

Change your signiture for a start Bubbles. Get that swear word, "Nissan" out of it. You're moving up now, you're going to a Suzuki. There's no looking back. I mean, you've been as low as you can go.

Check out www.izook.com also.

There have been a lot of really nice builds referred to and there are some really good links and threads in their tech section. Not the most comprehensive 'zuk site but definitely one of the more user-friendly.

Someone else has recently posted a good list of 'zuk links in the Suzuki forum I think. Definitely agree that SOA is a mistake early on with the 'zuk axles. I really look forward to seeing the build thread!
