Did the VN commodore come out with a series 2 engine?

Just a quick question did the VN commodore come with a series 2 engine or was it just the VR? Sorry it is 4x4 related just need a quick answer

there was a cross over between the VN and the VP where the VP motor was used with the VN coils and heads and intake, then the VP was truely the series 2 motor which was the 92 - 94 when they went to the VR which is the first of the ECOTECH's which are a piece of shite.....

depends what year the motor is, there are two different looms, the early and the later VN are different

Dunno, but you can tell the difference between the coil packs and and the thermostat. just asked him the question

my commy motor is the 94 vp series 2 the way to tell the driffrence between the two is that the series 2 thermostat comes out of the front of the block and the series 1 comes out of the back , also the coil packs are completley driffent
