Tyres/Rims for Safari

Post by Jacko »

Just trying to find out about either 32 or 33 inch tyres for nissan safari.

currently running kumho 265/70/r16.

It sounds like most of the 32 or 33 inch tyres require a 15 inch rim.. does this sound right? or could i find something to fit the 16 inch rims i've got.

Where would be a good place to buy a set of 15 inch rims?

Thanks.

You will be able to find a 33" equivalent in 16", depends on width of current rims, and whether you want to keep them or not.

Someone else will be able to give you the correct 16" tyre size, as I am not familiar with these.

If you want a cheap set of steel rims, keep an eye on trade me (there is a set for $120 on there), but then new ones are only around $65ea

A 33" tyre is still a 33" tyre regardless of what size rim it will fit

Simex' make a lot of their tyres to fit 16" rims as well as the 15". So do alot of the more common makes, Kumho, BFG, Firestone etc etc.

yep go for 285-75x16. same overall diametre as 33" but not as wide, a better overall tyre i believe, handle better in gravel and climb hills better also will be better on fuel. there were some coopers on trademe.
