Here is the same thing in the US http://www.partsmaxx.com/JEEP-RUBICON-FRONT-AXLE-ASSEMBLY-LOCKING-DIFFERENTIAL-410-AXLE-RATIO-P5312C333.aspx. Works out at about $US2,580 for both front & back, or $NZ3,369. Surely somebody can get those shipped back to NZ for less than $3,100, and make it a lot less than $6,500 total :?:

You can actually buy brand new TJ diffs from the US, so nothing would be leaking or need rebuilding and the brakes would be disc brakes as well. Since you are buying new ones, you can dictate what gearing you want. Even further than that, if you get the TJ Rubicon diffs, they would Dana 44 front and rear with lockers (air operated at about 5 psi). JK diff locks are electric.

TJ, if you read my earlier posts again the ARB's are still a factor in the equation, hence the initial quandry.

Looks good. It really gives me the incentive to get my finger out and do something to mine which has been standard with some ideas like yours for nearly 4 months now.

Yeah, I know. It will be a company car from Monday so that will help reduce the pain a little, but then again I want a TJ to live alongside it.

You also know a man who has a spare Mini, and that has to go first - it never gets used any more.

I don't understand the Jeep thing - but it does exist it would seem. I don't expect to be done with the XJ any time soon as it's just so useful and a TJ couldn't replace it as a practical tool (maybe I need a Commanche?), but I really like something open when the weather turns nice and the TJ would do that for me. I don't really do standard and I can't quite believe how long the Jeep has been. In fact I replaced the 30s it came with with 235 Wrangler GSAs as the 30s weren't even ATs either and they were on awful alloys.

I'm hoping this will be cheaper than the 14 year Porsche thing I've had...

Pop 31's on with the steel factory rims. If ya want 33's id go to another vehicle, waaayyy too much suspension drama for me, and the dana 35rear will possibly not like the 33s much either.

My 2nd XJ:
3 inch 31's on 15x8 -24mm offset (rub on lower rear of front guard):

3 inch 31's on 15x7 factory steel rims (no rub)

(this may have been before i popped the rear up, or its just a misleading pic, ground levels etc... cant recall)

I'm liking XJ no.2 in the second pic.. I think I'll be painting my Sport steelies black and calling that good for wheels, and 3" with 31s was about where i was thinking I should be.

Someone coming to look at the Mini on Sunday so fingers crossed. If you''ve started on the Renegade does that mean you want to sell the blue one, XJ....?

Fen, i cannot afford to sell the blue one, as i doubt i would ever recover the money thats been put into it. Just starting on the Renegade for something to do really.
