getting trigger happy on the posting today.
Wanting to do the oils in my diffs, simply because god knows when they were last done and just to check and top up etc.
Any recommeded oils or additives i should use?
ive got l.s.d in the rear and do i just simply top up to the level of the filler hole???
diff oils?
Re: diff oils?
hi i replaced the diff oils in my zuke today if you are just checking levels then open the top bung hole thing put ur finger in hole and push finger down if there is oil on you finger when u pull it out it is up to the right level if there isnt top it up. i just bought a 1l container with a little hose comeing out the top it was reasonably easy just u can only use half the bottle then have to top up bottle again to fill up some more see in the pic of the bottle below. you need 80w-90 gear oil for the open diff and a special lsd oil for the rear. i just used the one in the pic seems to be fine. think thats everything oh and make sure ur on a flat level serface or the levels will not be true.

Re: diff oils?
If you don't know the condition of the oil in the diffs I would be dropping it and replacing it with new so you know its clean.
May well be contaminated with water. Also good to drop it and see what else comes out, metal etc.

Re: diff oils?
I have been using Penrite LIMSLIP 85W-140 in my Wrangler with good results (no LSD chatter). Last time I got it from Parts Master. Works perfectly in the front non-LSD and rear with LSD (of course, LSD additive added).
Change front and rear diff oils in my other toys (that one is picky about stuff and had to use Mopar 85W-140).
