I got a busy day at work tomorrow, so probably won't be on the net again after tonight, well maybe for a few minutes in the morning  , so I'll see all you guys out there.

I'm probably going to leave hamilton about 6:30/7pm, so if ya want to meet anywhere, we can do either the usual Hillcrest Caltex, or Cambridge BP.

Think most of you have my number, so flick me a text and sus out out a meeting place 027 357 9547.

( I got the gas bottle  )

I came back sat nite. Cheers for the trip guys good to meet some new people. Friday night was an adventure in itself, when tims (gimmemud) snapped the axle on the single axle trailer carrying big als zook, didnt end up getting to the hq till around 1am haha and i was in cambridge at 7pm lol. Sat was a ripper of a day got sunburnt even. the new campsite looks rad as! mud was thrown lots of laughs all in all a good weekend

Haha i split a radiator hose on the way out, pulled it off then used a bread bag wrapped round then masking tape wrapped around that, worked mint!although it was a mission to find some water to fill the radiator back up. Did u auck boys get on ok gettting back?

I will have photos when i steal them of my passengers.

One of the most entertaining, eventful and frustrating trips I have been on.

Got home about 2am , still wide awake and wired up on Redbull from the drive home.
Couple of teaser pics. Think they sum up the weekend well

We made it back to Hamilton at about 11:30pm.

List of Carnage:

Friday night - Big Al's trailer broke, couple of hours spent boggying it up to make it mobileish, unloaded zook and drove it the rest of the way. Took 5 hours to get to the HQ from Hamilton.

Saturday - Gimmimud"s brand new clutch playing up, clutch line to close to cyclinder head, kept vapour locking and loosing all drive. Big Al's Zook broke the steering box, and lost all the brakes. Bill's Vit with smash Diff crossmember and diff mounts. Lots of shagging around getting these trucks mobile and out of the bush. Yorick lost a front wheel driving out. NZ-Hunter blew a radiator hose on his way out.

Sunday - Gimmemuds clutch was still acting up, although it was slipping now rather than vapour locking. Big Al had a new steering box, and working rear brakes, no fronts. Scott rolled his surf trying to follow me in the guts and smashed his hand to pieces. Managed to co-ordinate rescue effort to get him to Waikato hospital for an X=ray.
Damaged trailer loaded onto Bill's truck and taken to Tokoroa and bodgyed up at Yoricks place. Gimmimuds wheels loaded onto trailer. Big Al's Zook driven back to Hamilton and stored untill a trailer can be sourced to get it the rest of the way back to Auck's.

Me and UBZ had no drama what so ever :D

Pretty sure everyone had a blast, and there's a few people, including myself who are feeling a whole lot more clued up on just how important it is to clean your truck properly, check it over before a trip and do some preventative maintenance before it breaks out in the middle of no where :D :D

A huge thanks to Scott and Bill for going above and beyond the call of duty to travel back to Tauramnui to get parts to fix Al's truck, getting it mobile again for him, and then transporting his broken trailer to Tokoroa for repairs. You guys ROCK

The new tracks up there are awesome, and will only get better, especially with a shower of rain or four!!!! Looking forward to next time!!!

I've heard that too! Saw it on a Tui Billboard somewhere. :D
But in this case, to get power needed first gear and hence no momentum and in second it dropped it's guts at precisely the wrong moment. Adding Hair dryer and auto next on the list!

Had a nasty little kick to the right, that needed a little curry to get over.
