well, put some belts for the new alt and power steerin in..

put a 'V' in the roof.. its tacked, just need to finish fizzin it up..

Image

put a slight bend in there so when it comes to a fabric lid on the thing, hopefully water wont pool too badly.. also to give that slightly little bit more head room..

after a comment by matty, i got a standard battery box and slotted the bottom so it would slip over the edges of the battery tray, and allow the battery retaining bolts to be inside the box....

Image

then with the strap retainers on for only holding the lid on, when the bolts are done up it'll hold the main part of the box down to the bracket.. huzza!

*resurrection of old thread warning* Image

few bits done of late...
you can see where i've welded some newer smaller line from what was the heater water supply (silver metal pipe to left of pic) to meet up with the water supply for the turbo (two pipes bent and pointing under turbo's engine feed flange..
Image

and cut/drilled then tapped in a fitting to take some braided oil line for the higher pressure oil supply to turbo..
Image

i made a nibification for the rear disc brake fluid supply.. with the subaru leonie disc conversion, problems arise with too much fluid goin to rear calipers, so having this inline, mounted under passengers seat for ease of adjustment during testin..
Image

oil cooler to mount somewhere in engine bay.. bit rough but wait! thats not all..
Image

and the entire remote oil set up with the cooler straightened out.. (it'll have a new oil filter obviously  )
Image

got over the front leaf sprung thing and cut it off..

was gonna use some shithouse 'Y' arms on the front with these crappy mounts..
Image

Image

then got a case of the "wake the hell ups" and cut it up/off..

new centre chassis mount for the lower control arms from front and rear.. less to get hung up on now i'm hopin..
Image

lathed up some ends to go into my pipe for the control arms and panhard.. it'll take heims and create some adjustability and hopefully easier flexiness.. (yes it will push into the pipe all the way, its just for an example fawkers...)
Image

have also gotten another 37 wrangler and mounted it with tube for a spare..

more as finances and time dictate.

Good work nibs!!
Hey those bars you're using for the track bar? I used the same type. But I found that if you don't run a weld round the eyes that hold the rubber bushes in place they pop off. Mine busted after the first wheel stand. They are only spot welded on.

Good to see ya back into it.

cheers rok *fingers* and pete...

started with these...
Image

and this profile cut exhaust flange..
Image

then a mate fizzed up for me to complete my turbo downpipe...
Image

which fits awn thusly.. dont worry about the lower side of the downpipe, it just fits over the waste gate,
so alls good.. its a 2.5" exhaust goin on..
Image

tapped a fitting into the oil filter mount on the motor to feed the black stuff to the turbo...

and it continues....

Post by niblik »

got some plates trimmed up to plate the chassis to take the panhard mounts and shock hoops..
Image
Image

got these profile cut from 12mm...
Image

and made a panhard rod from 35 solid bar, drilled and tapped the chrome moly heims into each end for flex and fine tuning on my junker.. also put a slight kink in it for clearing the diff nugget at full crush.. 80 series cruisers use something along this line too i understand, so shouldnt turn into a craptastrophy..
Image

diff mount fabbed outa 5mm walled box..
Image

panhard mount tacked in.. all items tacked into place for now as was checkin length of panhard.. will need to shorten a touch which was expected as had tapped extra depth to accomodate any 'fine tunin' required..
Image

so thats where i'm at... jog on.. Image

"It does not matter how long it takes to get done as long as you had fun doing it", think of this bit as the foreplay

No-one can give you shit because the project has not been sold on or part completed and left, you keep resurrecting it and getting it to move on.

Just keep going and when it is finished everyone will respect the time and work you have put in and the dedication to the project.

I know you said don't worry about the wastegate but how much clearance is there? With soot and carbon build up the wastegate could stick open, just be sure the wastegate actuator is somewhere you can tap it if it does.

Not that it will stop the mighty 40 :)
