Reece is still waiting for the permit to come thru for this, anyway thr trip will be on Saturday, meeting point is at the totara park bridge (go over the bridge, first left and wait there). meeting time is 9.15, drivers briefing 9.30, leaving there 9.35

Trip fee is $15, add $5 if you are not a nzfwda member, note you may be asked to produce your nzfwda card

Please let us know if you are attending so we have an idea on numbers.

I might tag along and take the boys out for a spin. They haven't been out for a while and I probably need to make sure that the truck still works ;)

Bump, Reece has just advised we have a permit for this trip , so see you all there TOMORROW at 9.15 - 9.30, I've just pulled the LexPos out of the garage and cleaned the radiator and checked it, so hopefully it starts again in the morning.

Well I'm out for this trip, Yes it started but the front panhard rod bent very slightly going over the wainui hill (on the way to the trip), made the decision to turn around (and told Reece) and go home (and not have the nissan drivers on the trip laugh at me).

Got some new borrowed ones coming soon (hopefully) so I can get some new stronger ones made which will fix the problem.

Three trucks, Mark P, Mark O and me. One got towed most of the way home due to the rear drive shaft being removed (Mark O) Green 40 (Froggie I think on here, to be confirmed though)... other than that it was a great day. It all happened when I drove over a gorse bush and there was a tree round behind it that I didn't see, but I felt it and said to Lyn, there was a stump in there, I just kept driving up the track... next thing I know Mark P is calling me on the radio saying that there are just removing the other shock fro the 40 as it has broken as well (lost the first one on the way back from the top of the rock garden. Then I hear from Mark P that they are removing the rear drive shaft as Mark in the green 40 followed the same line as me but the stump made him leap like a frog...   funny that, what's his name gonna be on here :?: :?:    and bent his cross member up and the UJ was rubbing in it, so it was removed.
Anyways, when we got back to the road, we didn't know how to get his truck into 4 hi, so I towed him 3/4 of the way home then he drove the rest in low box.

Mudbrake one and Mudbrake two lived up to their names and found a muddy puddle to play in while the adults talked and dribbled as per normal.

Was a nice drive and fine for any family trip, I am willing to run one of these again as it was really great and we found a spot for lunch and a place for the kids to play by the river.

Cheers to Lyn, Mark P + kids and Mark O + Jen for the great day
