Got any pics of the tyres? Im looking at 33"s for mine in a coupla months.
Need to find some steel rims with -12 offset though.
If these Sumitomo Serengeti are the Korean made tyres, there is someone in my club that has nothing but praise for them. name sounds familiar all the same.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

like he said i have had sumitomos for the last 4 years on the pajero and when there was about 7mm left they were still working fine.
im now down to the buttom lugs and not to crash hot.
i have wranglers on the VX and so far im happy, they dont clear as well as sumos.

i was curious how they would compare. what sort of power differance is there between the vx and paj?

i had sumitomos on the paj a couple of years back. thought they were great but also had nothing to compare them to, i went from 267/75/16 hankook rto1s to 33/12.5/15 sumos and they were HEAPS better.

i think the silverstones will be too aggresive around here, they are close to simexs, not sure on sidewall stiffness tho, and saddam has just taken his simexs off and gone to creepies. id expect them to crap onroad too with such large voids.

if your after road manners aswell, stick to the wranglers and sumitomos etc.. there is also the buckshot mudders, hankook rt03, savero radial gt (think thats it?), i have seen the maxxis bighorn and quite like the look of them, and ive always liked the bfg mud(get huge kms on rd too). just some more to think about. personally i would be looking at the bighorn or if $$ allowed the bfg.

Sam

p.s. i vote for 33s, do it once do it right.

I have run the Sumitomos and found them really good. Clear the mud well and now i have Wranglers and i have found that they dont clear the mud like the Sumitomos. Both are great and i would go for the 33's as well   Hope this helps you.....abbo

I run MTR's mainly because of price, but if I were sticking with 33's, I'd be tempted to try the KL71's

Are your current tyres still warrantable?

If so I'd keep them for on-road and get some Silverstones for off road (if two sets is an option for you). Offroad and on road tyres have completely different characteristics. ATs for on road and silverstones for offroad deep mud etc and anything in between is a compromise for both (on and off road).

tried running two sets a while ago before i got my zuk and found that all the changing of wheels plays havoc on wheel studs.

The utes at work have Wranglers on them, and IMHO they are as noisey as a noisey thing on the sealed road. Hum like buggery.
