Just one question, im about to service my truck, ive done heaps of petrol cars before, but not a deisel 4x4, is there any difference to it, appart from the extra costs for parts. ie same old thing for oil, undo the cap, undo the bung, unscrew the oil filter, drain, fit new filter, screw bung back in, fill and close off?? Cheers for any advise

dont forget to do the fuel filter as well

If you are unsure of the trucks service history its worth checking

There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.

is the fuel filter done the same as a petrol?, i for some reason was thinking it could be a bit tricker being diesel??

Exactly the same, except you have to bleed the fuel system after changing the fuel filter. I always fill the fuel filter with clean diesel before I screw it on; it saves having to pump the hand primer pump a million times to fill it from the tank.

No idea of the construction of the fuel filter you use but, yep, likewise, be very careful not to spill the unfiltered fuel into the injector pump side of the filter. Make sure you use a funnel or similar to get the unfiltered fuel into the side where it'll be filtered once the engine is started - if you know what I mean...
and X2 on checking all the diff, t/box and gearbox oils etc. Also is a good time to check diff breathers if fitted for seals etc.

sweet, cheers guys, might leave the fuel filter till when ive got my mate around and he can give me a hand there, so i dont F it up, as i need it to take away.
