Re: Scared of electricty/heights? Perfect Job......
Its just Transmission work, missus uncle did it down here for a few years until the company got out of the transmission side of it, but you'd get good $$ overseas for it
Re: Scared of electricty/heights? Perfect Job......

I don't think so ... just one of many links ... do an image search "live line work"
http://www.masling.com.au/html/history.htm
“Masling Helicopters” began a partnership with the American company “Haverfield” that was based in Miami, Florida. Masling’s were the first company in Australia to offer a professional “live line” helicopter airborne work system to service the national grid. This system revolutionised the maintenance of power supply systems as well as offering placement of line marker balls on transmission cables to improve aircraft safety through improved line visibility. (Aircraft contact with power lines is a leading cause of aircraft accidents worldwide).

There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.

Definately not fake, same method is used here, just not as much as overseas

Amazing clip!!
I've been outside choppers a few times but only while they've been on the ground idling. Watching that clip, hearing the sounds of the guy with his equipment so clearly. But you couldn't hear the sound of the chopper's motor or even the blades spinning around. I don't think it's fake for one minute. But I do wonder how they got rid of the sound of the chopper and such clear sound of the guy working. If he farted I'm sure you'd hear that to.
