Ill be down at the BBQ with the boys tomorrow, put a bloody nail through my foot yesterday, that sucks, but hey was a good day spent with mates (thanks Ron for the nail  ).

Also took hub apart on Prado, not looking good, all the little shalf things are broken. Started wiring for Pump and plugs

Merry New Year for next week

The work on the Pajero continues, This time i got the Mrs to remove the dinged, rusty and bent running boards and fit the homemade snorkel, leaving me the easy job of fitting the internal pumbing once we flip the airbox 180 deg to shorten the amount of pipe needed to get to the snorkel pickup.

and yes that IS the mrs under the pajero

RJ and I shot up Thompsons for a quick squiz and a bbq at the x-roads. Tracks all pretty tame, 2wded most of the way up. Summit track was a breeze. Things turned to shite when the rain came down heavy and i ducked into the pines 1/2 way to the summit to put my top up and my doors back on. We went for a little skid down on the pine needles and lockers or not, wasnt gettin back up the way i came, and the way i came was the only way. Pulled out the winch rope, only to discover that the rope retaining bolt was AWOL and the wire was just spinning on the drum........ hermmmm...... got that sorted, then one solinoid decided to only work when it wanted too........... it took a while.
All a bit of fun and games. Took a virgin newb up with me, never been offroad before..... im picking we might have a convert!!!!

Just ram a bit of steel through the filter - tie some rope to one end - feed it through the grill and pull that sucker...

Had to do this on my old safari... took me and my 120Kg mate to turn the B@st@rd... Thats over 200Kgs of pulling power to turn a filter that someone hadn't greased before

Make sure you get one big enough to fit over a Safari filter too. We had a couple that were too small for the Safa filters

Can also just ram a big screw driver through the filter which should do the job (bit messy that what though  )

10ltrs of oil and 2 oil filters on my old truck and oil went black after first trip every time  Have seen the light now though

Took out the wiring loom from the zuk. Stripped it back to about 1/3rd of its wires and will reinstall it tomorrow when it stops raining. Also removed the fuse box and put in a 4 slot fuse box, didn't need all the rest as most of the stuff from it was gone. Just got to find a click clack type box and remount the ecu and relays in that and the fuses on the side. it will then be mounted as high up under the dash as I can get it with access through where the centre console (heater radio etc( was. then its just a few gauges to see what need to be seen, some switches for ignition etc and a little bit of cable for the battery to sort (gotta see a sparky about crimping the cables), oh yeah and mount the battery box when i decide where it is going. Might just leave it "floating" in the rear until I source a fuel cell and mount them side by side.
