coils

Post by PigFmr »

has anybody fitted 80series cruiser coils to the front of there safari,i know they fit ,just i wondered wot sort of lift they give 2 or 3inch??,looking at 4inch lift on the front now, just since chopping my roof off arse end of the truck sits 30mm higher now,as before it sat level but i did have to put 30mm coils spacers in the front when i put my winch on and bar work,

haha mine was the same, surprising how much the roof weighs, i have spacers in the front, thats my next job. i have just bought two adjustable tough dog panhards and intend going 100mm now on front and rear, i would have bought the springs this week but found the panhards on trade me for $500 brand new for the pair. couldnt resist it thats about $400 saving. :D

cant afford the springs now until i am back at work and getting some overtime money :( :(

Just buy a set of springs in the lift you want but get heavy duty for the front and light ones for the rear. That seems to work very well. This is what I did anyway.
Nissan Terrano coilovers, turboed VH45, Safari axles, and some other stuff.

i have a rear set of spring for a 80 with 100mm lift if you wonta try them out. there a heavry spring rate then the ones in at the mo. they needed to be in for cert as body roll was a little to much.

Hi i had standard 80 series fronts in my swb gq and it gave me about a 2 inch lift and ive heard 2inch lifted 80 series springs give around a 4-5inch lift on the gq-gu but it obviously depends on the weight of the truck also.
