Hot Water Cylinder Wanted

Post by curious_george »

Yup, you read right.

We're after a low pressure stainless cylinder with wetback fittings. It's no drama if the element doesn't work any more as there is no power anyway. Size is of no real concern either, although an industrial size one would probably not fit in the small hut. It really does need to be stainless due to the high temperatures that can and will be reached by the fire once installed.

The hut itself is on army land, so the general public cant get to it. It also has no real owner so really, we're looking for a cylinder that no one wants any more and are keen to "donate" to a worthy cause.

In return for the cylinder, we're keen to offer the donor and a friend an exclusive trip into the hut itself with the opportunity to do some hunting on land that sees very few people - even less of them civilians.

A long shot we know, but someone somewhere must know of one lying around or being removed from a place, and be keen for an exclusive experience. There would also be the opportunity to bring one's vehicle for 'access' within the land - and we know that's as rare as rocking horse shit.

Shouldn't matter for the cylinder as long as the wetback can handle the temps and the cylinder has a supply to replace steam off. What sort of fireplace is it going into?

I got one, I'm just taking it out cos we don't need two cylinders in the house. Don't have the wetback, cos that's staying in the fire to feed the replacement. Give me the specs of the firebox and I'll make one to go with it. However, having said all that, bloody wetbacks are rubbish in huts, they take too long to heat up. I can give you a design for a hut boiler that will give you 50 litres of boiling water in under 15 minutes from firewood. Last time I got one made it cost about $120

In return for the cylinder, we're keen to offer the donor and a friend an exclusive trip into the hut itself with the opportunity to do some hunting on land that sees very few people - even less of them civilians.

Our Singaporean friends are over at the moment with their big guns - 155mm self propelled, and the Primus SP1 - 155mm tracked artillerly piece - can fire 7 rounds and have them all land on the same target at the same time - now there's a clever cannon.

And when they go the ammo techs have to get rid of their remaining ammo - Insert really big Bang here!
