series 3 Landozer

Post by landie »

Hi guys,I thought I'll put some pics of our landrover on here.
Its a series 3 1974,Picked it up for $500 bucks. All the running gear is good, standard motor. The brakes were shit when we got it so put new shoes and wheel cylinders in.

Then found out the master cylinder was rooted.(A big thanks to MIKE for offering one of his spare ones)But being a half cast Jew :D We figured out that a mitsubishi mirage one fitted on.We just had to change the flare nuts to metric.I Modified the front to be able to mount the winch(over engineered it)so it wont budge when the winch is in action.

We took it out yesterday to ashurst (manawatu river)Got stuck once but had installed a winch on the Landrover which pulled us out.

Hit a big hole And the front leaf spring snapped at the mount which in turn dropped down so we could'nt steer to the right because the steering arm was hitting it  so a bit or Kiwi knowhow we jacked it up rammed a big spanner in there and wedged a bit of wood between the diff and bump stop to get the height we needed to clear the steering arm

So if anyone has got any leafsprings they want get rid of give me a buzz. :D Thanks

HaHa-Yep using the a 4inch holesaw worked a treat  ,as its only a shitter it didnt matter, but you can use a 88-92 ish L300 master cylinder, these bolt on the same but the fluid resevoir is on flexibe hoses so you could mount it out of way(no holesaw)
