Fitting New Intercooler to 1KZ-TE

Post by oldblue »

Has anyone fitted a 90series Prado intercooler onto a 70Series 1KZ-TE Motor? If so were there any tecnical mods that need to be done, or is it just bolt on and go. I know bonett clearance may be a problem.

done one on a surf but it was custom which i took the orig prado one off .

go for the biggest bodylift you can,cos the fact intercooled engine is ronounded for dying cos they put the cooler way too close to the rocker cover.

but oldblue it is a bolt on job aslong as youve got the pipes etc but make sure you get they core chemically dipped....and add a bonnet scoop....

AND REMEMBER THEY RETAIL @2500.00 YEP THATS DOLLARS EX TOYOTA

oh and do you own a egt guage

Krawlr, what is the porpose of chemically cleaning ? is it to make sure of complete cleansing inside. A friend has fitted a MR2 blower with a inter cooler to a 3lt N/A motor. The inter cooler dropped the egt from 800 to 600deg Very impressed.
