Its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
Re: Escudo front diff
There is a really good post on www.izook.com for this.
The mod is a horse-collar type of modified mount, and the write-up includes good description and photos.
What happened Weemsy, did you pop the side out of the housing?

Doesn't every 'scud? I know mine are all begging me to SAS them!
If money was no object, I'd get the Suzuki rear with DANA-44 front knuckles for a SAS on my 5-dr.
Try this link for the horse-collar type mount.

Good luck. I've not done a front diff if any of the trucks yet, touch wood, but I've got a spare sitting there ready.

Re: Escudo front diff
if you are going to thrash shit out of your scudo you are wasting your time with the std front diff, over the last 3 years i have broken 7 front diffs, broken spider gears , smashed housings , torn the whole pinion housing off the diff head, torn the rh side bearing housing off , ripped the teeth off the c+p, i have braced and plated the diff head, made a brace that held the diff against the cross member , nothing lasted, i welded the rear diff which helped by being able to go a bit easier on it , and then broke it again at a round of our club champs, i had run out of good spares by then so built a locked front diff and that is still going at this stage, it is no good when there is heaps of grip but is great in winter when wet and slippery, i drive it in lo 4wd but with the hubs unlocked and lock them when needed, in that time i have only broken 1 cv and blown 1 auto hub before i changed them to manual ones, i was going to sas it but then they dont have the gearing or grunt to run bigger rubber so it lives under a tarp now and i use my v6 paj and the scudo comes out when some one needs it or my 15 yr old nephew drives it, i ended up with a vege crate of broken bits that the scrap metal dude gave me enough to but a bottle of jack daniels with, plus now i can change a scudo front diff with my eyes closed in about 30 mins
