ANNUAL 42 TRAVERSE WORKING BEE

Post by skid »

For the last couple or more years, there has been an annual working bee held at the 42 Traverse in the Tongariro National Park area.

This is an event that is supported by DOC, who usually put on a BBQ for lunch.

Usual story, BYO tools for scrub cutting. If you turn up with power equipment(chainsaws etc) you will be required to have all the appropriate safety gear.

Re: ANNUAL 42 TRAVERSE WORKING BEE correction

A correction of the month has been advised on this activity....

The annual 42 Traverse work day in association with DOC will start at the Owhango end in 2009 on 15 March  and the meeting place is by the river bridge. The required safety briefing will start at 9.00am and everyone is encouraged to be on time so that groups can be despatched promptly.

For people bringing powered equipment, please include the appropriate safety gear. It is not essential that everyone brings tools, as an important task is the clearing the trimmed vegetation off the track. Work gloves are useful.
