whats the best ratio to have in a surf with 32in tyres mines got 4.556 but top speed on speedo is 105km flat out

you will find that the overall top speed is higher than speedo reading as the transfer case and the final drive hasnt changed but the tire size has. get someone with accurate speedo to pace you and check speed. you have 2 other ratios to choose from 4.3 and 4.1. 4.1 will give good economy but poor power. you will then have to get your speedo rechecked by second vehicle or by measured distance or gps. hope this helps.
doesn't play well with small vehicles

or 4.88's or 5.29's the other ratios mentioned will give you even higher gearing 4.8's are prob better as are stronger than the 5.29's but are highly sort after by the trails guys

its not so much what ratio your diffs are you need to work oput what ratio they should be .
Figure out what RPM you want to be doing at 100km so that your right in the middle of your power band then work out a ratio to suit this.

4.88's will return your gearing to standard,

do you want the revs to come down then you need to put higher ratio diffs such as 4.1s. 4.88s are lower and the top speed will be slower
doesn't play well with small vehicles
