they are pretty good as far as rust goes , as long as it hasnt had stuff on the roof like a wind surfer or other stuff that has been in the sea, just check where the body mounts are as it is an akward fix and a wof item if rusty there ,

As Vaughn said not too bad. Check anywhere that sand or mud can pile up and sit retaining moisture (gaurds, mounts, chassis rails, fuel tank etc). Mine is riddled with rust but had a fair amount of sand and mud trapped so I think it may have been on a few coast/sand runs (came from Whakatane). If kept clean and washed underneath after use thoughly they should be sweet.

Mine's all panel-steel problems in the front foot-wells, mainly around the edges of the floor.

Also check around the rear seat centre latching point on the floor, and the lower seatbelt mounts.

I've seen a few with bit of rust along the rear window sill.

Regarding the underside, Supercheap fishoil in a spray can is your friend, but not the mechanics :)

My spare parts truck has a little on the back
corners of the roof,i think stuff gets trapped under the
rubber roof strip.Other than that a big improvment on
the SJ series

Yep, but I think that a corroded tin-can full of rust is an improvement on the SJ series, as far as the old ferrous oxide goes.
