Aisin Free Wheeling hub parts?

Post by nstacey »

I removed my FWH's from my hilux in order to clean them up and re seal them as one had worked its way loose. In the process I seem to have stretched one of the springs, the one that goes behind the clutch. Is it possible to get replacement parts new for these hubs? where from? Here's a pic of the difference. I do have an AVM spare I'll use in the meantime, but the Aisin ones are definitely a preferance.

Thanks

You'll need to go to a wrecker, Toymotor don't sell much in the way of parts for those. About the only thing you can buy seperately is the nuts, bolts and cone washers

Is that stretched spring from one side and the other the other side?

On mine there are two springs in each side and one of the two looks like the 'stretched' one and the other like the normal one.

Solved this problem with a trip to pick a part

FYI, Aisin hubs on a late 80s/early 90s Isuzu bighorn have the same smaller spring (as pictured above) as the Hilux ones.

They have the same spring in Toyota electric hubs, if your stuck, I'll sort you out with a good one ( from my spares )
