So what are the pros and cons with each? Looking for some for my zuk (vitara) and have to decide which flavour to go with before jumping next week.
So far I know I need the cone washers for the Aisin ones but not the AVM ones and maybe the AVM ones will just bolt in without modification.

AVM vs Aisin Hubs
Re: AVM vs Aisin Hubs
AVM hibs are alot weaker than Aisin hubs. One opinion is that by running a weaker hub, it becomes the "fuse" in the front drive system. It is alot easier to replace a FWH out on the track than a CV.
Re: AVM vs Aisin Hubs
I made a special CSK drill 5degrees I think to drill out the stud holes on AVM and supperwinch hubs so we can fit collits to them, stops the stud/nuts from slackening off.

Going to use allen bolts (or whatever they are called) and a little loctite so not worried about the cone washers. In fact saves me buying some at a dollar a pop.
I didnt think of the "fuse" being the hub, but at $60 dollars a pop they might be too expensive to do that.
Basically I can get both types at the same price, one needs cone washers the other doesnt. One needs some mods to fit, the other I am not so sure but was told they just bolt on.
I have several spare axles and CV's and a few front diffs too so (touch wood) breakages arent too much of a problem.

oldblue is right, unless you use collets you will have trouble. I have seen lots of people use allen bolts and loctite and they shear or come loose. There is no choice as far as I am concerned with hubs.
Only Aisin and you will never have trouble.
Cheers Richard

Without the collets you get minute movement which over time works the bolts loose and slogs out the holes... thats what happened to mine
