So is it a manual or an auto?

If it's manual I might be interested though to be fair if the Mini does go next week I won't be looking to wait until February to get into a Wrangler and let 2 months of roof-off weather pass me by.

Advice taken - I took off the plastic trim under the front bumper and cut the bottom of the flares to suit, then being on a roll I took off the horrible chrome Japanese back number plate mount.

The Mini buyer (his Mother actually  ) got cold feet as the car needs to be certified due to the power increase so there won't be a TJ for a little while yet in any case.

To be fair it stood up pretty well to driving over another vehicle and half-way through a breeze-block wall.

I thought that would be you on CherokeeFourm.com. Nice pic.

XJ: I saw your wife's TJ on TradeMe. Shame it's auto as otherwise it would be ideal (well, if it was black as well as manual it would be absolutely ideal), but I think that's a compromise i wouldn't be willing to make.

I had a Cherokee Limited as a company car in Saudi many years ago and drove a manual Sport with the 4.0 HO engine several times as a courtesy car when it was in for service, and it was WAY more fun and WAY quicker. Much as I like my XJ it was so much better I'd have held out for a manual version if there had been a realistic chance of finding one in NZ.

I have to agree the TJ looks good, XJ. Might have to get me one of them, possibly on Thursday... :D

Hopefully the XJ will be looking a bit happier pretty soon , Yeti. I had mine out for a tame tag-along yesterday and it went well, even though it was on Wrangler GSA tyres.

I changed the disks and pads this morning as it had the mother and father of brake judders that I have just been living with. Turns out the old pads were fitted to the wrong sides  which probably wasn't a huge issue from a safety perspective but does make me worry what else might have been done nearly right. Hopefully that might have been the source of the annoying light clonk that I got occasionally and couldn't track down. It didn't do it on my shakedown drive to the transfer station and it was sooooo nice to have smooth braking.

The TJ, the morning after collecting it so exactly as bought (well, the roof was up when I bought it, but otherwise...):

Water wings will be off later today, orange lights will be off soon and chrome bezels will be black - I don't really do colour or bling
Image

Garish wheel cover will also be off later today. There's a very dusty but matching 31 under it.

Small steps, but it looks a lot better to my eye already. I'll probably take the over riders off as well before I'm happy though.
