Mounting winch to Ali bar

Post by Mattman »

I have seen some nice AliArc front bars around to suit my 88 IFS Surf and they come with winch mounts.

I wouldn't have thought that an ali bar would be strong enough or do they actually bolt through the bar to the chassis in some way?

Any have an ali bar with a winch?

Cheers
Matt.

Yeah, you need to make a steel cradle for the winch, which the bar pretty much mounts to.

I am making one at the moment for a Safari, I'll take some pics for you when I get back down there.

TJM ali bars come with a chassis mounted cradle for the winch.
Aliarc bars were made from heavier ali and used to mount the winch straight to the bar
