Anyone got a recommendation for a grease that won't run out of my grease gun?

Last tube I bought (something red and caltex from supercheap) has leaked about half a litre of red oil over my shelving and garage floor. As well as making a hell of a mess, I figure it'll run out of anything else I grease with it.

Used for wheel bearings and uni/ball joints mostly. What do you guys use?

Had the same issues with the last caltex crap. Now use "Morey's Super Premium High Temperature Waterproof Grease" No shit, that is what the label says... damn mouthful... Lithium based and bright blue so you can see it clearly amongst all the mud when greasing up.

I cross rivers a bit and find this is indeed waterproof in that when regreasing UJs and steering joints water is pushed out followed by good still-blue 'old' grease. Other shit I used turned to grey slush and dribbled out on regreasing.

High temperture resistance seems to be true too. Storage is in a warm place and it doen't dribble out of the grease gun like the last lot did... although, if I leave it in direct sunlight, it does change viscosity a bit.

bugger about the mess it makes but most grease seems to melt and run so i have found out like you i now keep my grease gun in large zip lock bag
we use mobil 222 hp at work it seems ok

I got the mobil stuff in my grease gun and that doesn't seem to leak out. Think it was quite cheap too.

I use Shell LX2 in my wheel bearings and Shell SD2 in all the grease points. SD2 is the thickest grease I have seen and it is super sticky

If u want true heat resistant grease Fuchs LX2, its good sh*t we use it on our degassing units and scrap driers at work theyre sitting beside big ass furnaces blasting away at 760deg

but fuchs ep2 is good for 120ish deg thats what i use on my truck

What colour is it? Call me strange, but I like a grease that's bright and clear enough that I can easily see when it's contaminated. Most wheel bearing greases are but I like to check anyway.
My wheel bearings are oil bath anyway.

Last tube from Ripco on Rangitikei Street. Can't recall cost but I like it, good colour to note change in quality as highlighted by Kiwibacon. Seen the same stuff in marine stores selling to fisherman for their boat trailers etc. It is many years ago now but when I was on the tuna boat we used a blue grease in all the on deck machinary. May have been very different stuff ...

Castrol LMX is blue. Can give you a deal on a few tubes but not for long as the retail side has been bought. Also have JCB grease thats made for high stress (load all booms) but its uk size so its only 400g per tube. (i.e need grease gun to match $$$)
