wheres work, coz I just happen to be going to barbie this afternoon

I'm just chillin this weekend, got my daughter with me and a barbie at a 4wd mates house to go to.

relaxing after a stressful day yesterday, where my work truck broke down at the top of the rimutakas and I had to walk 10 mins up a bush track to get cellphone coverage and then wait 3 hours in the hot sun with my daughter and a dog, for the serviceman to show up for a 10 minute fix.

made it a very long day by the end of it all

nevermind

Went to Masterton and watched a couple of hours of drag racing. Some great tough cars there.

Ridiculous heat, 33c in the shade....

26DegC in shade in the manawatu, I bet it was damn sight hotter over in m'ton.

Garage duty tracking down brake issues in the truck. Almost certainly master cylinder seepage beteen the twin pistons... this then sets off the pressure differential warning actuator valve which then locks up the front brakes to compensate for fluid pressure drop... I hope it is as simple as ordering new seals in on monday...

Went for a bit of a drive with the wife looking for a cool spot by the river - found a couple of areas that should be a bit of fun when it eventually rains again :D :D
Ended up going for a swim and we had been in the water for a while when this old guy turns up looking for a spot to do a bit of fishing ... sees us in the water and says that this is probably not going to be a good spot. :D as we weren't wearing a lot we had to agree with him.
Was a nice spot though till a trio of women (and I use that word loosely ) turned up and took over our spot
And before you ask Skid, no there are no pic's though if what we saw as we left was anything to go by it would have been unsuitable for posting here

Had to work today, but it was quiet so I washed the truck. Then I had the bright idea of polishing it, seeing as it hadn'e been done in ages.

I was too slow to realise what a stupid idea that was! High 20's in the shade and I'm sweating like a sooty grunter having barely started. Oh well, done now and all set to get it filthy next weekend on the Mackley/Denniston trip.

At least its Nelson Anniversary on Monday, so still have two days off.

spent Sat welding up the frame to mount the fairlead on, got it mounted and finished this morning and finally got the in cab wiring all sorted away so the "new" Warn XD 9000 winch is alive and kicking wooohoooo!!

, got bit by a whitetail on my left toe while poking around in the garage tidying up the welder (had changed out of my workboots into jandels cause of this fr5$ging heat) big toe today is swollen, puffy, burning, itchy and tender :(

decided to give the Paj an early birthday and give it a oil change as its due for its 5000km service in another 500km anyway .. drain oil, pour fresh amber coloured oil in .. check dipstick, whats this black oil on the end ... sigh typical 2.5 Mitsi motor .. oil dirty by the time it gets to the sump!

Have heard that when you do the change swap a new filter on, and fill up with diesel and run for 30 secs or so, then drain out, replace filter and top up with clean oil. The diesel has a cleaner in it so removes any deposits and acts as a lubricant. I wouldnt recommend putting any load on the engine or running for too long but it worked when I filled a quad engine sump with water, two flushes and it was all good again. was a trick told to me by an old mechanic.

Ive heard of that too, was always too scared to try it with the Paj, just in case something important washes into the sump along with the sludge ............like a bearing shell

Well this weekend was a good one. Took my little angel in disguise to the Crusty Demons which was bloody awesome. Well worth the money! We both had a great time. I am a bit worried about Jacob thinking the "Crusty Babes" were hot (I thought 8 year olds weren't into girls)

Then on Sunday was MEANT to go for a nice romantic picnic but instead Nigel gets called into the bloody factory to fix something so I had to take his credit card and go shopping for some new clothes instead (DAMN IT)!!!

Then I read on... WhEEEWWWW sigh of relief. When you have finished with his credit card..... I need some hardware....... Please.
