80 series landcruiser rear coils will fit straight in and give 3-4 inches of lift, you'll need to put in longer shocks as well, aftermarket 80 series shocks bolt straight in aswell, also pays to have a longer panhard rod (or adjustable)

Are you sure that the 80 series REAR are the ones Tim? I heard that you use 80 series Fronts.

Rears are what I have in mine, know of a couple of others who have done the same, also common in the pirate threads

unless he has done a solid axle swap I would only go 2" as thats about as much as you want to wind the front torsion bars up. I lifted mine only 35mm in the front.

Go 2" body lift and 2" suspension lift for a surf and it gives you a very capable truck without going the whole hog and turning it into a full blown weapon, like hosehustlers

Ill second that.
But would recommend a 3inch spring in the rear if you are planing on carrying load . Mine sagged in the rear with all my trip gear ,33 spare and rear bar.

I tried to fit Dobi 80series rear springs into the rear of my surf but they tapered in to much and wouldnt seat.

You need to stipulate which model surf you are talking about as well here. Mid 90's could be the old 130 series or (in '96 I think) the newer kzn 185 series. They are totaly different with the 185 series surfs having double a arm front suspension and not torsion bar. They also have centre diffs (for permanent 4wd) and the front transfer case out put is on the left hand side.

Would have thought rear axle was the same though. :?

I've got a pair of rear coil prings out of a 130 surf, they are progressive and approx 2 inch lift, the shocks have already been used but the springs are surplus to my needs.

Dobi Springs are only a 40mm lift....you can get other brands that are 50mm & they come in standard & heavy duty.....go for standard unless you tow lots of trailors or carry heavy loads all the time.
I put Maxi Trac springs in mine & are very good.

PS makes sure you put the correct spring on each side they are not both the same .
